However, Ridgid made a few key updates under the hood as well. Ridgid dropped the low-end speed 5,000 RPM from 20,000 to 15,000 RPMs. This wider range of speeds allows you to shape everything from hardwoods, down to more sensitive materials like cured resins and MDF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re happy to report that Ridgid retained its brushless motor and even managed to give it a little more muscle. This power increase was very evident when we put it to the test here at our shop. It stands 7.6 inches tall, and the barrel diameter is well suited for one or two-handed use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we mentioned before, Ridgid made some pretty notable design changes from the previous model. Ridgid also moved the speed control dial to the side of the tool for easier changes on the fly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ridgid sticks with a standard micro depth adjustment dial. This allows for movements as small as 1\/64th inches.
